Y’all. I like to talk. Like a lot. I also like to listen. The thing is though, I’m pretty sure I’m better at the talking part than I am at the listening which isn’t exactly a good thing. Paul Tillich, who was kind of a smart dude, says that, “The first duty of love is to listen,” and if there’s anything I love more than talking, it’s love itself. The idea of it. The feeling of it. The way it looks. The way it grows. The way it fixes everything that’s broken. How I see it, love is the answer to everything. Right now I have to keep my mouth shut. Pretty much all day. Open joint TMJ surgery will do that to you. And so, I’m going to get better at this love thing. Because I’m going to become The Girl Who Listens.
